As the water evaporates, the silica hardens into opal, creating these thin, vibrant veins locked inside the brown ironstone. The ironstone backing keeps the opal stable and creates that dramatic contrast between the rough rock and the brilliant color. This one has a painterly quality — the blue sweeps across the surface like brushstrokes, with flecks of lighter aqua catching the light. It's bold, vivid, and impossible to ignore.
