The Opal Story: This pipe opal from Queensland has a soft peachy-pink base with flashes of violet-blue that shift as you move the stone. Pipe opals get their name from how they form, silica rich water seeps into narrow voids left by decomposed plant roots or geological fractures, and over millions of years, that silica hardens into solid opal. The cylindrical shape comes from the original cavity. The translucency and pastel tones make this one feel almost dreamlike. It's the kind of stone that catches light quietly, not loudly, but you can't stop looking at it.

Design Possibilities: The cushion cut and size make this perfect for a statement ring, bold enough to be noticed. It could also work beautifully as a pendant if you want something you can layer or wear close.
