The Opal Story

This one looks like a landscape from above.

A warm honey amber base fills the lower half of the stone, glowing from within like late afternoon light. Then a sweeping band of electric teal and cyan cuts across the upper face, vivid and sharp edged, bleeding into a deep violet purple in the top corner. Scattered, directional flashes of blue catch the light across the surface as the stone moves. The whole thing shifts and changes depending on how you hold it, like watching weather move across a desert sky.

There is nothing else quite like it.

Design Possibilities

The rectangular cushion shape and that landscape like colour display make this a natural for a statement ring. It sits wide on the finger with real presence and the way the colour shifts from amber to teal to violet means it reads differently in every light. It would also work beautifully as a pendant, worn at the collarbone where it catches the light throughout the day.

What's Included

This opal comes finished as a hand fabricated bezel set ring or pendant in sterling silver. The bezel is hand-l filed to follow the exact curves of this stone, wrapping it securely while keeping the full face of that extraordinary colour visible. Every piece is polished to a high shine  finish before it leaves the bench.
